favorite kitchen products to make healthy habits easy

OK, going into the kitchen and cooking up a meal for breakfast, lunch + dinner can honestly be extremely annoying at times. I’ve found that I can be extremely lazy with certain things like this. I know this about myself, but I have found some products that I rely on that make building healthy habits EASIER and way more CONVENIENT (which also make it more enjoyable!). If I have TASTY food prepped ahead of time, I’m less likely to uber eats chipotle to my front door. I’m also 20x more likely to stick with building a habit if the hard work (which isn’t actually that hard with these) is done upfront!

Below are my top 10 products that I use on a daily or weekly basis that have really helped me build healthy habits. Scroll down to see how I use them and for the links to shop them yourself through Amazon!

nutribullet

I honestly am unsure what I would do without this little guy. I use it every day to make either a protein smoothie, homemade protein frappucino, sauces to make my meals tastier, etc. The sky is the limit with this guy!

ugly reusable containers

When Joel ordered these I was strongly against them. I had all of these glass pyrex containers and a nice set of rubbermaid containers. I wasn’t sure why he decided to purchase these hideous things. BUT I will admit, they are the best reusable containers we have. They stack so nicely in the fridge and store really well. You also never have to worry about finding the right top because they all use the same one! It seems obvious, but I use these to store leftovers or for meal prep!

Ninja coffee maker

If you follow me on instagram then you know I love this machine and use it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. To say I am obsessed would be an understatement. You can brew a single cup to a full carafe of coffee. Options for cold brew, regular, tea, etc. But how does it make your life easier? 1. because you can set it up the night before and set a timer for when you want your coffee ready (even for the single cup) but 2. it makes your coffee so tasty that you don’t need to run out to Starbucks or dunkin’ for that delicious cup—saving you money and probably calories.

handheld frother

So of course I need to follow the coffee machine up with this device. The actual one I have is no longer available but I got this one for my mom a few years ago as a gift and it has held up extremely well and works the same! I love to froth up the milk before I pour my coffee in. The coffee machine does come with a frother but I just find this little device to be more convenient and easier. I also use it to mix protein in water or milk if I am not adding it to a smoothie, as well as to mix my morning greens into a glass of water!

Instant pot

Shredded chicken. all day every day. I love it. It takes literally 20 minutes from start to finish (including heat up time and cooking time) to turn your raw chicken breast into beautiful tasty and delicious shredded chicken. You can then do whatever you want with it. Add it to your favorite chicken salad recipe, throw BBQ sauce on it, buffalo chicken dip. It obviously makes more than chicken and has so many great options for easy and convenient recipes but I would buy this device 1000x times over just to make shredded chicken as easy as it does. Meal prep just got faster, less messy and easier.

food scale

If you are meal prepping, this is a must. Put your shredded chicken in the ugly reusable containers I posted above but weigh it out into pre-portioned meals so it is easy to grab when you need a quick lunch. You are more likely to grab something healthier if the hard work is done. Do the hard work ahead of time.

a cute lunchbag

Hide your ugly reusable containers in an adorable lunchbag! Make packing your lunch EASY! You need something to put it in, toss that lululemon bag aside and get something that will help control the temperature of your food and be a little more stylish!

alligator chopper

Back to meal prep! It is also easier to put meals together when it is easier to prep them! This will cut your prepping time down significantly and give you perfectly chopped fruits/veggies to toss in. You don’t even have to use this JUST when you are making a meal that requires chopped veggies. Buy some veggies at the store, chop them up ahead of time and then when you want something like an omelet for breakfast, you already have the veggies chopped and can grab and use!

plastic bins

Great for organizing and storage. But I really love this because I have one bin in my pantry that is the home of all of my go-to prep items. In it I keep: avocado oil spray, extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, + onion powder. When I am getting ready to cook, I just grab out this bin instead of searching all over the pantry. Pretty much everything I need is in there, and if I need something unique to the recipe, then I grab it out of the spice drawer!

YETI tumbler

Do you like your drinks to stay cold or stay hot? Then enough said.

YETI lid with straw

I don’t know why but it is easier to drink water with a straw. It’s worth the money, promise.

Liquid IV

It’s also easier to drink water when it tastes good.
